Diagnosis

Habitat description

Streams, but possibly also headwaters, shaded by forest. Especially faster sections (falls), usually with rocks and probably often with overhanging branches, submerged roots, dead trunks or branches, coarse detritus and/or a gravelly bottom. From 200 to 700 m above sea level.
