Type locality: Kpalimé, Togo
Diagnosis
Male differs from other Gomphidia species by (1) ranging in forested habitats from Gabon to Sierra Leone; (2) cerci curved towards each other sharply, like pair of pliers (dorsal view); (3) legs, posterior hamules, S4-6 and S8-10 are all black, never marked with yellow.
Habitat description
Mostly streams, but also rivers, usually in open areas in forest, but sometimes shaded. Often with a sandy and/or soft (like muddy) bottom, and probably coarse detritus. From 0 to 600 m above sea level, but mostly between 100 and 300.
