Diagnosis

However, set apart from other Ictinogomphus by (1) occuring only from Katanga to N Botswana; (2) posterior hamule all pale, rather than the base or apex being black; (3) apical halves S4-6 extensively pale rather than black; (4) foliations on S8 only about 1/3 as deep as segment is high. Habitat description

Rivers and flowing channels in marshes, in open landscapes. Often with emergent vegetation, mostly a sandy bottom, and probably blackwater. From 900 to 1700 m above sea level.

confirmed: Angola; Botswana; Democratic Republic of the Congo; Namibia; Zambia
