Diagnosis

The only species currently recognised in this genus. Please refer to the genus diagnosis and introduction for more information.

Habitat description

Mostly streams, but also rivers and possibly headwaters, seeps and springs, shaded by forest. Often with coarse detritus and a sandy, probably gravelly and/or soft (like muddy) bottom, and probably blackwater, overhanging branches and/or submerged roots. From 0 to 800 m above sea level.
