The only species currently recognised in this genus in Africa. Please refer to the genus diagnosis and introduction for more information.
Habitat description
Standing waters, but also rivers and flowing channels in marshes, and possibly lakes, in open landscapes or open areas in forest. Usually with emergent and aquatic vegetation. From 0 to 1700 m above sea level, but mostly below 1300.
